How is my daily water goal calculated?
Your goal starts from a baseline of about 35 ml per kilogram of body weight, then is adjusted for your gender, activity level, and age. You can override it at any time in Settings → Profile if you prefer a different target.
Why didn't my reminder fire?
On both Android and iOS the operating system can suppress notifications when battery saver is on, when Do Not Disturb is active, or when notifications are blocked at the system level. Open your device's Settings → Notifications → Brim and confirm notifications are allowed. On Android, also disable battery optimisation for Brim if reminders are missing.
How do I change my glass size?
Open the app, tap the Settings tab, then "Glass Size". Pick from the standard sizes (200 ml to 500 ml) or set a custom value. Your daily glass count updates automatically.
Will my data sync across devices?
Not yet. The current version stores everything locally for privacy and speed. Cross-device sync is on our roadmap and will be optional — you'll be asked before any data leaves your device.
Does Brim work without internet?
Yes. The app is fully offline. No network connection is required to track water, set goals, view history, or receive reminders.
How can I delete all my data?
On Android: Settings → Apps → Brim → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the app. On iOS: delete the app from your home screen. Both actions permanently remove every byte of your hydration data — we don't keep a copy because we never received one. For a formal data deletion request, use our data deletion page.
I'm pregnant / have a medical condition. Should I follow Brim's recommendation?
Brim's goal is a general-purpose starting point, not medical advice. If you have any condition that affects fluid balance — kidney issues, heart conditions, diabetes, pregnancy, and so on — please ask a doctor what your daily fluid intake should be, and override the goal in Brim's Settings to match.
Does Brim count tea, coffee, juice, or other drinks?
Right now Brim is designed for plain water. Adding optional tracking for other beverages (with hydration weighting) is on our roadmap.
